Stop at the Cham Museum built by the French and used as the Ecole Francaise dExtreme Orient in 1915. This charming but rather primitive museum has an extensive collection of sculptures and history of the Cham people and a unique collection of Cham artifacts. The exhibits depict four different periods: My Son, Tra Kieu, Dong Duong and Thap Mam. Most of the Buddhist and Hiduist statures are in sand stone which has existed for centuries.
Leave the town for the Marble mountain village that used to be the American marine base. The mountain has 5 mounts, namely: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth. A lot of stone handcrafts are for sale. Bargaining is a must for a good price if you want to shop for stone statues.
