Tam coc – the Halong inland (1 day)

Hoa Lu was the capital of Dai Co Viet nearly 10 centuries ago. The site is located in Truong Yen Commune, Hoa Lu District, Ninh Binh Province, about 100 km south of Hanoi. The ancient citadel of Hoa Lu covers an area of 300 hectares, being surrounded by arc rocky mountains and magnificent scenery. The imperial city of Hoa Lu comprises of outer ramparts, inner ramparts, and southern ramparts.

Tam Coc mean “Three Caves”. This boat trip is a great opportunity to admire countryside landscape with peaceful atmosphere.

CA-NB01: Tam Coc – The Ha Long Inland (L)

Depart from your hotel in Hanoi at 8:00 oclock. The 2,5 hour drive today takes you south of Hanoi through the countryside of the Red River Delta to Ninh Binh province that is famous with big variety of tourist interests. On arrival at Hoa Lu, the guide take you to visit two temples of Vietnamese kings who ruled the country in the 10th century. Climb to Yen Ma mountain for the beautiful view over the karst landscape in the area. Get back to your car for a short drive to Tam Coc and have a Vietnamese lunch in a local restaurant.

After you lunch, you walk to the boat dock where you will take 2 hour boat row along a pretty river which leads you through some limestone caves beautifully featured with many stalactites hanging from the ceiling. During the row between many limestone mountains, you could figure out why this area considered as "Halong Bay on land". Start returning to Hanoi at 3:30 PM, arrive at your hotel in the late afternoon. End of service.
